We understand that unpredictability can disrupt even the most stable living situations. Our mission is to ensure that no one goes without a place to stay when they need one, whether it’s because of eviction, a natural disaster, or any other calamity. Our emergency housing service offers individuals and families shelter, warmth, and security.
Good Morning, I am a former resident at the shelter Aspen Court owned by LIHI. A couple weeks ago, all of the residents at Aspen Court had to move out due to the shelter changing their Objective for the use of the building to serve homeless veterans. Everyone who lived there was told that we would be getting moved to a different kind of location similar to that 1.
Or close to it. However, when it came down to the deadline to move that was not the case. Instead we were offered either to go try to get a bed at the Rescue Mission or go park at a safe parking location. Majority of people, including myself and my mom were put back on the streets. Currently, I am now homeless again sleeping in a broke down car and fighting to get my kids back from CP.S the before my termination hearing in may. As hard as it is to say, I just really need help from somewhere or somebody. So far it has been almost impossible to receive any kind of help whatsoever from any of the resources I have contacted. One of the employees that worked at Aspen Court gave me a business card for your organization and suggested I reach out for help because you were a major help to her. Honestly, I don’t know real Where else to turn so I am hoping that maybe this might be the place to help me and my family get out of the hole we have been in for so long. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear back from you soon.
